It's been a while since we heard from Mother Goat. Their debut album (Circus in the Cistern) saw the band staking claim to a heavy island sound in the jam band space. Now getting ready to launch album No. 2 later in 2026 ("Salt Licks" / GOOD DUCK) they're doubling down on the heavy and the island with the clubby, hip-hop-inspired “Lustina.” Guitars sizzle and sting. A vintage ARP Odyssey gurgles and whines. The drum and bass backbone stands strong. Three singers contribute rhymes here, painting a multi-dimensional portrait of the song's elusive star as she appears and disappears throughout the night.
