The song was recorded remotely with each part being “mailed in” and then mixed in our central studio on the Island of St John. Without traditional drums or beats, the acoustic guitar manages the rhythm, giving it a singer songwriter feel.
But then the solos really set this song on fire evoking the jam band improv vibe and dipping into blues, jazz, reggae and world sounds. Pedal Steel, Electric Piano, Synthesizer Theremin, Blues Harp and massive Saxophone parts surround the vivid lyrics that leave the listener in a great expanse desert like setting grappling with the compromises of relationships.
